In 2022, Dunnikier Park Community Golf (DPCG), in collaboration with Fife Golf Trust, proudly introduced Park Golf to Scotland with the establishment of a 6-hole Park Golf course in Kirkcaldy.
At DPCG, we are passionate about the joy, health, and well-being benefits that Park Golf brings to players of all ages and abilities. This website is dedicated to promoting the growth of Park Golf across Scotland, providing resources, updates, and information to inspire more communities to get involved.

Who We Are
Dunnikier Park Community Golf (DPCG)
Dunnikier Park Community Golf (DPCG) is the charitable arm of Dunnikier Park Golf Club, founded on 21st August 2021. We are OSCR-registered (SC051184) and guided by four key objectives:

Our mission is to encourage disadvantaged and underprivileged children, young people, and adults to experience the joy of golf through accessible and fun sessions.
These sessions are hosted by trained volunteers certified in emergency first aid, PVG, and Safeguarding in Golf.
DPCG introduced Park Golf to Scotland—the first in Scotland and the UK—a sport that began in Hokkaido, Japan, in 1983. With grants from organisations such as the Community Mental Health & Wellbeing Fund (via Fife Voluntary Action), Our Minds Matter Fund (via Fife Council), and donations from local businesses and the community, we have invested in equipment and facilities, ensuring our players enjoy not only the game but also the camaraderie over tea, coffee, and biscuits after each round.
Our journey with Park Golf began in 2019, inspired by a six-hole course developed by Fife Golf Trust. Recognising its potential to attract non-golfers, we set out to make the sport accessible to individuals who face barriers to traditional golf, such as age, physical or mental health issues, financial constraints, or lack of time.
Our initiatives include:
- Engaging families, local schools, and community support groups.
- Providing totally barrier-free golf sessions at no cost to support groups, followed by social chats over a cuppa.
- Partnering with community groups such as Care Home residents, Phoenix Futures, Sporting Memories, Alzheimer Scotland, and others.
More information can be found on our website and our Facebook page.
- Year 1 (2022): Established relationships with local support groups and became an affiliated member of the Nippon Park Golf Association.
- Year 2 (2023): Expanded our reach to local schools and care homes, including setting up a six-hole course at Capshard Primary School.
- Year 3 (2024): Continued growth, including new courses such as the one at Craigtoun Park in St Andrews.
Through the support of Fife Voluntary Action, Active Fife, Fife Golf Trust, and others, we’ve transformed from a small initiative into a thriving community movement.
Community groups now approach us to participate in our sessions or organise bespoke events, highlighting the lasting relationships we’ve built. We’re not guessing about our impact—we see it daily in the feedback from participants and the growing demand for Park Golf in our community.
Dunnikier Park Community Golf is proud to make a difference, and our journey is only just beginning. Join us in spreading the joy of Park Golf to even more people!
